A mid‑sized workshop unfolded in Buffalo’s financial district for an executive team at a regional financial services firm. They brought together 25 team members split into two groups, each led by two instructors. The client’s challenge: internal silos and communication breakdowns between departments.

In the morning session, small‑group exercises (4–8 participants) focused on leadership listening drills and rapid decision‑making games, tackling misalignment head‑on. After lunch, the entire group reconvened for large‑ensemble improv scenes illustrating real work scenarios: client pitches, crisis responses, and cross‑team handoffs.

Over the afternoon, instructors pushed for agility: scenes tilted unexpectedly, forcing creative pivots and collaborative patchwork—mirroring real operational surprises.

Then came the sales pitch showdown—oh, you’ve never lived until you’ve seen a normally buttoned‑up analyst pretend to sell a “subscription service for renting emotional support flamingos.” Teams had 60 seconds to cook up the wildest product pitch imaginable or deliver an off‑the‑cuff customer update that made us all snort‑laugh into our coffee. And here’s the kicker: every single pitch got instant, loving peer feedback—no “gotchas,” just the kind of supportive energy you wish every Monday meeting had.

By the end of the day, it was like we’d cracked open a fresh can of team‑spirit soda and sprayed it all over the place. Listening? Sharper than a hawk in bifocals. Cross‑department chats? Smooth as butter on a hot pancake. Adaptability? We were practically doing cartwheels over unexpected curveballs. And that sense of shared ownership? Oh, it was humming—like we’d all just joined the same weirdly wonderful band. They walked out laughing, high‑fiving, already swapping “remember when” stories… a bunch of siloed coworkers transformed into one giant, joyful improv‑powered brain.

We serve the greater Buffalo area, including Delaware District, Elmwood Village, Allentown, North Buffalo, Parkside, Downtown Buffalo/Financial District, Cobblestone District, Canalside, University Heights, Central Business District, East Aurora (just outside), Amherst (adjacent suburb), Orchard Park, Williamsville

Curtiss Hotel

68 Curtiss St
Buffalo, NY 14203

www.curtisshotel.com

This isn’t just a hotel — it’s a statement piece. The Curtiss is a 5‑star boutique knockout with only 68 rooms, so every guest feels like the VIP in a glossy lifestyle magazine spread. We’re talking rooftop views that make you want to give a TED Talk about sunsets, skyline sparkle, and Lake Erie’s shimmer. The event spaces? Total shape‑shifters — boardroom‑tight or reception‑ready in a snap. And then there’s Chez Ami, home to the revolving bar (yes, you literally rotate while you sip — try not to giggle). Add indoor/outdoor patios, designer details everywhere, and tech that practically high‑fives you for being so modern, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a “we’re never topping this” corporate dinner or off‑site brainstorm. Steps from the theatre district and the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, this place is pure, polished, unforgettable magic.

Hyatt Regency Buffalo / Hotel and Conference Center

2 Niagara Square
Buffalo, NY 14202

www.hyatt.com

If Buffalo had a mothership for corporate events, the Hyatt would be it. It’s literally plugged into the Buffalo Convention Center, so you could host your giant keynote, your breakout sessions, and your late‑night “accidental karaoke” all without stepping outside (unless you want to). With over 1,000 rooms, nobody’s sleeping on a friend’s couch. The ballroom? Big enough to launch your company rocket program. Breakout rooms? Flexible, wired, and begging for flip charts. Expect warp‑speed Wi‑Fi, top‑shelf AV, and a staff who will make you feel like the prom king/queen/royal of your event. And when you do step out? KeyBank Center, Canalside, theaters, and a wall of Buffalo eats are right there waiting.

The Westin Buffalo

250 Delaware Ave
Buffalo, NY 14202

www.marriott.com

If elegance had an address, it might be this one. The Westin Buffalo is your go‑to for that sweet spot between luxury and let’s‑get‑stuff‑done. The grand ballroom swallows up 250 guests without feeling like you’re shouting into the void. Executive boardrooms mean serious business — but then there’s the outdoor terrace, which whispers “networking cocktail hour” in your ear. The food? Crafted by an in‑house culinary team that clearly studied the art of wow. The AV setup? Sharp, seamless, and ready for your mic‑drop moments. And the light — oh, the light. Floor‑to‑ceiling windows pour in golden sunshine so your photos look like they belong in a glossy mag. Nestled right in downtown, you’re minutes from Broadway, Shea’s Performing Arts Center, and a buffet of killer restaurants. Perfect for a training that’s as inspiring as it is productive.

Double Endowment

AKA: The “I’m secretly steering you, you’re secretly steering me, and somehow we’re both laughing so hard we can’t breathe” game.

This one is a listening skills ninja masterclass disguised as absolute chaos. First, pick your playground — could be anything: a submarine cafeteria, a pumpkin patch during a lightning storm, or, sure, the classic ancient Roman arena (togas optional). Now, grab two brave players. Secretly, tell Player 1 what weird little thing they have to get Player 2 to do. Then, secretly tell Player 2 their own equally ridiculous mission for Player 1. The kicker? Neither one knows the other’s secret goal. Oh, and no cheating — you can’t just blurt out “Hey, lick the chandelier.” You’ve got to get there through sly suggestions, world‑building, and pure improv magic.

Example: We’re in ancient Rome. Player 1’s mission? Get Player 2 to taste the sand in the arena (mmm… gritty). Player 2’s mission? Get Player 1 to tie a knot in a lion’s tail (because nothing says “team bonding” like possible mauling).

Here’s the beauty — this game only works if you go big, take risks, and follow your scene partner like they’ve got the last donut at the office. You might zig when they expect a zag, but that’s fine — the audience will howl, and that laughter is your compass. If you’re heading down the wrong alley, trust me, your scene partner will course‑correct. Just keep saying “yes” to the weird, and watch the magic unfold.
